Trump 2.0
President Donald Trump is working each day like it may be his last. He’s doing everything he can to restore America as a great nation and restore the American people as the custodians and governing citizens of our nation. He’s doing everything he can to rein in the federal bureaucrat army that has usurped our freedom.
This is the most exciting and consequential moment in decades!
It took Joe Biden six months to do what a normal president would do in only a month. Donald Trump does in a day what a normal president does in a month. Just look at what happened in the 48-hour period since he announced he would impose tariffs on Canada and Mexico at midnight last night.
The Wall Street Journal and CNBC claimed that Trump was imposing tariffs to stop unfair competition. He mentioned that issue, but it wasn’t the purpose of the tariffs.
President Trump wanted cooperation on securing the borders of the United States to stop the flow of deadly drugs and illegal aliens. Before the day was over, Trump got that cooperation from both nations.
Of course, there are still trade issues. So, for now, there is a one-month reprieve on the tariffs. We’ll see what happens next.
But this is vintage Trump. One commentator said that Trump’s bravado is not a “bug” in his method of operation. It is central to his method of operation, and it is successful.
When President Trump says provocative things like, “I’ll take back the Panama Canal,” “We need Greenland,” and renames the Gulf of Mexico the Gulf of America, he’s not displaying a personality glitch.
Many people think he would do so much better if he would drop all that rhetoric. The thing everyone wants to “correct” about Donald Trump is central to who he is and central to his success.
Moreover, he is the only person in the political arena right now capable of dismantling the massive bureaucracy that has taken over our government.
These petty authoritarians want to tell us what our liberties are, how we will live, what we eat, what we can say, how we raise our children, and what we can do in our churches. The list goes on and on.
Trump 2.0 is better than Trump 1.0. In his first term, Donald Trump thought he could trust the people on his staff. He thought he could make deals with the Democrats. I believe that everything he suffered through -- the Russia hoax, the FBI raiding his home, the attempts to destroy his businesses and throw him in jail -- created Trump 2.0, and it is an even better version than Trump 1.0.
Trump’s Day
In the middle of negotiating deals with Canada and Mexico, President Trump signed more executive orders yesterday and was making preparations for his first White House meeting with a foreign leader, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
He was putting out statements on a variety of events happening in Washington to make sure people understood what he was doing and why.
Trump also welcomed the National Hockey League champions to the White House, where he cracked jokes with players and went into detail about the playoffs.
And the president is still working on getting his nominees confirmed. Yesterday, Sen. Susan Collins, who is unreliable on a good day, announced she was supporting Tulsi Gabbard. Why do I think there was a phone call with Sen. Collins yesterday that may not show up on the president’s official schedule?
It’s unbelievable what Donald Trump packs into one day!
Trump gives new meaning to the word “multitasking.” People bemoan that he only has two years before the midterm congressional elections. But he uses 20 hours in each day! So, in “Trump Time” he’s got about six years.
And speaking of Trump’s nominees, the nominations of Tulsi Gabbard and Robert F. Kennedy, Jr., were successfully voted out of key Senate committees today. Their nominations are now headed for final confirmation votes on the Senate floor.
“Radical Lunatics”
President Trump’s efforts to get the “radical lunatics” out of our government have really scared the left. You can tell by the enraged and unhinged reaction of Democrats and their media allies over the shuttering of USAID.
USAID is promoting ideas here and abroad that most Americans are in the dark about and it would infuriate them if they did know. But the media won’t tell you that. Instead, they’re using poor and needy people as “human shields,” saying, “Look how Trump is taking away resources from this group here and that group there!”
President John F. Kennedy created USAID by executive order in 1961. This little known agency has a budget of $50 billion. It has become an unaccountable rogue agency dominated by neo-Marxists who use it as a slush fund for left-wing causes, including overseas abortions, transgender rights, and censorship.
All of the radical things we have been fighting against here, USAID is using your tax dollars to promote around the world!
Secretary of State Marco Rubio took over management of USAID yesterday. He told reporters:
“My frustration with USAID goes back to my time in Congress. It’s a completely unresponsive agency. It’s supposed to respond to policy directives of the State Department, and it refuses to do so. . .
“These are taxpayer dollars, and we owe the American people the assurance that every dollar we are spending abroad is being spent on something that furthers our national interests.”
By the way, Elon Musk and his DOGE team are so dedicated to saving money that they are sleeping in a federal office building. They’re also working weekends when “the resistance” isn’t around. Musk posted:
“Very few in the bureaucracy actually work the weekend, so it’s like the opposing team just leaves the field for 2 days! Working the weekend is a superpower.”
Breaking The Law
Here’s an example of why Donald Trump is right about USAID.
Twenty years ago, we decided that “gain-of-function” experimentation on viruses was too dangerous to allow U.S. labs to do. The viruses could leak out and cause unprecedented death and destruction. So, such research was banned.
USAID gave a grant to a non-governmental organization called the EcoHealth Alliance. Among other things, EcoHealth used its resources to contract with the lab in Wuhan, China. To do what? Gain-of-function research that is prohibited here in the United States.
So, the will of the American people is thwarted.
The people’s money is appropriated for what they don’t want.
The Chinese Communist Party gets our tax money.
The Wuhan lab has a leak.
And much of the federal government lies about it to prevent the American people from finding out what happened with their money.
This deception and deliberate disregard for the “consent of the governed” is laying America low, changing our country day by day, while these bureaucrats do whatever they want, the people be damned.
Thankfully, Donald Trump is bringing accountability to Washington and draining the Swamp!
The Cartels Declare War
The “war on drugs” is about to get very real. Mexican drug lords have reportedly declared war on U.S. Border Patrol agents and military personnel working along the southern border.
Cartel members have reportedly been authorized to assassinate U.S. personnel and even attack them with armed drones. The cartels grew dramatically in strength and in resources during the Biden/Harris years. Now, we will have to pay a price to stop them.
Fighting Antisemitism
The Trump Education Department just launched investigations into antisemitic activities at five universities: Columbia University, Northwestern University, Portland State University, the University of California, Berkeley, and the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities.
Of course, so-called “civil rights groups” are attacking the investigations as “violations of free speech” because the demonstrations were “mostly peaceful.” But when pro-Israel speakers are shouted down on college campuses, these “civil rights groups” are nowhere to be seen!
Making The Point
While President Trump was signing executive orders in the Oval Office yesterday, a reporter asked about his policy toward Israel. The president used that moment to make a powerful point.
Calling attention to the size of the Resolute Desk, Trump said, “My desk is the Middle East.” Then he held a pen to the edge of the desk and said, “The top of this pen is Israel.” (Watch this video.)
The point being that the tiny nation of Israel, the only Jewish state in the entire world, is not the problem in the Middle East and shouldn’t be asked to make more concessions for peace.
The real problem in the Middle East is the Islamic Republic of Iran, the world’s largest state-sponsor of terrorism. Hamas and Hezbollah would struggle to survive without the ayatollah’s support.
That’s why President Trump signed an order reimposing his “maximum pressure campaign” against Iran, ending four years of Biden/Harris appeasement.
