The Real Scandal
The situation resulting from the Signal chat leak is NOT a scandal or a serious threat to our national security. Yes, it is embarrassing. But, more importantly, it has implications for the president’s ability to implement his America First foreign policy.
National Security Adviser Michael Waltz put the call together. To his credit, he immediately took responsibility.
However, the reporter on the call, Jeffrey Goldberg, is not just any reporter. He is one of the media’s most aggressive enemies of President Trump. He actively promoted the Russian collusion hoax. I could give you ten other lies he promoted, but I don’t want to repeat his lies.
The concern isn’t just that a reporter got on a call he shouldn’t have been on. The concern is that it was Jeffrey Goldberg, a reporter who has devoted the last decade to destroying Donald Trump. How could THAT possibly happen?
The claim is that someone on Waltz’s staff put Goldberg’s number in the phone, leading to this “mistake.” Who on Waltz’s staff has any reason to have the phone number of one of the media’s biggest Trump haters? That person should be fired immediately.
Like the Vindman brothers, this episode raises the disturbing possibility that there are still enemies of the president inside the administration. The best minds the White House has should be working overtime to determine exactly how and why this happened.
The Impact
What was the impact of the Signal leak on our national security? Absolutely nothing. Zero. Zilch. The attack was successful. We took out Houthi leaders. We took out significant infrastructure.
We made it clear that if these Iranian-backed terrorists keep shooting at our ships and sailors, they are going to pay a terrible price. Nothing happened that jeopardized the execution of that particular military operation.
Charge Him
Anyone who happens to find documents labeled “Secret” or “Top Secret” (or hear secret information) has a legal obligation to secure those documents, not read them, and turn them in.
So, why didn’t Goldberg immediately leave the call if he believed he was accidentally receiving classified information? Was he spying on the administration by eavesdropping on top government officials?
The Trump administration should press charges against Goldberg. He’s the one damaging our national security, not the people on the call. He’s the one who made all the details public.
The whole thing is unraveling. The media want you to believe that Goldberg released the so-called “war plans” today. He didn’t. Commenting on Goldberg’s release of the transcript, Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth said:
“So, let me get this straight. The Atlantic released the so-called ‘war plans’ and those ‘plans’ include: No names. No targets. No locations. No units. No routes. No sources. No methods. And no classified information. Those are some really sh***y war plans. This only proves one thing: Jeff Goldberg has never seen a war plan or an ‘attack plan’ (as he now calls it). Not even close.”
Hypocrisy Overload
Senators Mark Warner, Richard Blumenthal, Chuck Schumer, and House Democrats are all acting like they have a case of the vapors. From their hysterical reactions, you would think the nuclear launch codes had been leaked.
Apparently, they missed the last four years. The national security of the United States was jeopardized repeatedly and intentionally over the last four years as a matter of deliberate policy decisions.
- Joe Biden intentionally opened the border allowing military-aged men, gang members, and terrorists to walk in. American citizens were murdered as a result of this deliberate policy decision.
- In spite of Biden/Harris lies, there was no vetting of the illegal aliens who entered our country.
- Biden turned over security in Kabul to the Taliban, who allowed a suicide bomber to kill 13 American military personnel.
- Biden surrendered a massive stash of weapons to the Taliban during his chaotic retreat.
- Biden allowed a Chinese spy balloon to travel across the entire country and over multiple military bases.
- Biden intentionally depleted our weapons supplies for a no-win war in Ukraine.
- Biden intentionally made our military and intelligence community woke.
- Biden intentionally made climate change a top national security issue while ignoring real military threats.
- Democrats and the media deliberately covered up Biden’s mental decline, leaving America vulnerable with a feeble and failing commander-in-chief.
The list goes on and on and on.
Defunding Planned Parenthood
The Trump administration is taking steps to block $20 million in federal funds to Planned Parenthood. The Department of Health and Human Services is concerned the nation’s largest abortion business may be using federal dollars for “diversity, equity, and inclusion” programs in violation of President Trump’s executive order.
I’m not entirely certain what DEI in the abortion industry looks like. Is it making sure the aborted babies were from diverse backgrounds? Is it ensuring that the abortionists who kill the babies represent all races and dozens of made-up genders? Is it ensuring that an equal number of “men” have abortions?
This money had to be somewhere in an appropriations bill. So, the administration has the same dilemma it is facing in other cases where judges are saying, “You can’t unappropriate money that was already appropriated.”
But at least Donald Trump is trying.
Fighting For Election Integrity
President Trump signed an executive order yesterday taking a number of actions to secure America’s elections. For example:
- Federal voter registration forms will now require proof of citizenship when an individual registers to vote.
- Federal agencies must provide states access to certain databases so the states can verify the status of individuals registering to vote, something the Biden administration refused to do.
- Ballots that arrive after Election Day will not be counted in federal elections.
- States are directed to adopt a “voter-verifiable paper ballot record” and to ensure that voter rolls are properly maintained.
Democrat states will undoubtedly resist these common sense measures, so Trump is requiring compliance with these measures in order for states to receive federal grants for election-related activities. But every state with a Republican governor and legislature ought to adopt these election integrity measures now.
Democrats will nationalize elections if they have power. It’s no longer a sufficient argument to say, “We can’t do what they’re doing.” We’ve got to stop playing by different rules! It’s a form of surrender.
The left will do whatever it wants. So, we should do whatever we can while we can.
Suing The Antisemites
The left has been using lawfare against everything we hold dear for decades. If the courts are going to be a battlefield, then we need to fight on that battlefield.
The families of October 7th victims and hostages filed a lawsuit this week against Students for Justice in Palestine (SJP), Columbia University Apartheid Divest (CUAD), and other radical groups and individuals, including Mahmoud Khalil.
The lawsuit accuses these individuals and organizations of acting as “American propaganda firms” for Hamas and providing support for terrorism. Even the Biden administration recognized that the Iranian regime was funding and promoting these radical campus protests.
The lawsuit states that Khalil and other Islamist groups are coordinating with Hamas, and there is plenty of evidence to support that charge. During the most recent “intifada” on the campus of Columbia University, Khalil’s comrades were distributing actual Hamas propaganda justifying the October 7th attacks.
I hope the families bringing this lawsuit have good lawyers, and I hope they did a little “shopping around” for the best place to bring the lawsuit.
The Real Danger
For the past several years, Democrats have been running around with their hair on fire, screaming about Donald Trump being a “danger to democracy.” But the real danger to democracy is the intolerant left that is willing to turn the power of government against the American people.
That danger was the subject of a Senate Judiciary Committee hearing yesterday. One of the witnesses was Molly Hemingway, editor-in-chief of The Federalist and a victim of government censorship. Her remarks, as always, were spot on. Here’s some of what she said:
“The tentacles of the censorship industrial complex are choking out freedom of expression, debate, and the right to criticize powerful institutions such as corporate media and the government.
“Federal and state governments fund and promote censorship and blacklisting technology. . . Academic institutions . . . are given large grants not to defend free speech, but to conduct research on so-called disinformation for use by the censorship regime. . .
“Attacking free speech and debate has become a massive industry, much of it government-funded and all of it threatening a free society. . .
“The more they try to shut us down, the harder we're going to work to stay open, because it’s not about us. It’s about whether we will have a civilization where people are allowed to say and think things tyrants don’t want us to.”
Left-wing Hate
Speaking of hateful, intolerant leftists, Rep. Jasmine Crockett is back in the news. Over the weekend, she mocked Texas Gov. Greg Abbott, who is disabled and confined to a wheelchair, as “Governor Hot Wheels.”
Crockett made this disgusting remark at a fundraising event for the Human Rights Campaign, the nation’s most powerful LGBTQ grift group.
Responding to the backlash, Crockett denied she was referring to the governor’s wheelchair. She was really talking about his policy of busing illegal aliens to Democrat-run sanctuary cities. She also claimed to be “appalled” that Republicans would criticize her.
Her “clarification” doesn’t pass the straight face test. Crockett has previously liked social media posts referring to Abbott as “Hot Wheels.”
Moreover, her insulting remark comes on the heels of her saying that Republicans should be “punched.” Referring to Sen. Ted Cruz, Crockett said he “has to be knocked over the head, like hard.”
But Crockett wasn’t alone.
Illinois Gov. J.B. Pritzker also spoke at the event. He referred to the Trump administration as “the most vile and cruel people in our country” who would respond to only one thing -- “a punch in the face.” He also urged LGBTQ activists “to become street fighters” and “take to the streets.”
This dehumanizing and violent rhetoric from Crockett and Pritzker comes at a time when the transgender movement is already being associated with serious violence, including the murder of federal agents and schoolchildren.
