A Written Confession
While the FBI, the Secret Service, and the national media can’t find a motive for Ryan Routh’s assassination attempt on Donald Trump, we now have a written confession. Routh evidently planned the attack several months ago, but anticipated that he was unlikely to succeed.
He left a letter in a box with a friend. In the letter, he wrote: “This was an assassination attempt on Donald Trump, but I failed you. . . I tried my best and gave it all the gumption I could muster,” adding, “I will offer $150,000 to whomever can complete the job.”
Routh also complained that Trump abandoned the 2015 Obama/Biden nuclear deal with Iran, writing, “Trump ended relations with Iran like a child, and now the Middle East has unraveled.”
The Middle East under Donald Trump was relatively quiet. Israel was signing peace deals with its Arab neighbors.
The Middle East didn’t unravel until the disastrous Biden/Harris retreat from Afghanistan demonstrated the incompetence and weakness of the current administration, which was also lifting sanctions against the Iranian regime left and right.
With billions of dollars now pouring in, Tehran was once again able to fund its terrorist proxies of Hamas and Hezbollah. Biden and Harris were bankrolling the world’s leading state-sponsor of terrorism. That’s why the Middle East unraveled!
Please keep President Trump and his family in your prayers.
Harris Scores
After losing the endorsement of the Teamsters Union, Kamala Harris just scored a big endorsement, and it makes all the sense in the world. She was endorsed by the IRS employees’ union.
Joe Biden and Kamala Harris massively increased the size of the IRS, supposedly to go after billionaires. But nobody, including the IRS, believes that. They are going after every last penny they can squeeze out of the middle class.
Harris also won an endorsement that, on its face, doesn’t make any sense at all. Hundreds of former defense and national security experts just endorsed Harris. They said it was essential to have a leader who is “prepared and strategic,” and who understands the critical issues facing our country in an increasingly dangerous world.
And that leads them to endorse Kamala Harris?
Not surprisingly, some of these same “experts” also signed the notorious letter claiming that Hunter Biden’s laptop was Russian disinformation. They were wrong about that, too.
The obvious choice for national security is Donald Trump. He increased defense spending. Biden and Harris defense budgets have not kept up with inflation. Trump kept us out of no-win wars. He is the candidate who promotes America all the time.
Harris is the exact opposite. She and her left-wing allies believe America is “systemically racist,” founded on slavery and genocide. The Biden/Harris military can’t get enough recruits. Why not? Because middle America, where the military’s recruits come from, isn’t interested in their woke military.
Harris Breaks Tradition
The Al Smith dinner is an annual event hosted by the Archdiocese of New York that raises millions of dollars for charity. There is also a long tradition of the presidential candidates gently “roasting” one another at the dinner every four years. It’s a chance for the two sides to come together for a good cause and demonstrate that they can get along despite their differences.
But this year is different. Kamala Harris became the first presidential candidate in 40 years to turn down the invitation to attend the Al Smith dinner.
Polls show Donald Trump is leading among Catholic voters. I’m sure some in Harris’s campaign were worried about negative reactions from the audience.
But after her terrible performance in last week’s appearance with Oprah, the real issue is Harris. She’s overly scripted and just can’t be spontaneous.
Some analysts are saying that Harris has a growing “Hillary problem.” It’s not her gender. It’s the fact that neither Hillary Clinton nor Kamala Harris come across as “genuine.” For example, Harris has changed positions on many issues while insisting that her values haven’t changed. Many voters find her constant flip-flopping to be totally disingenuous.
Here’s an idea: Maybe Donald Trump should suggest that the next presidential debate take place in front of Al Smith dinner.
A Revealing Vote
There’s a potential government shutdown looming next week if Congress fails to pass a short-term spending bill. The House of Representatives voted on a government funding proposal last week, but it failed when 14 Republicans joined 206 Democrats in opposing the bill.
Some Republicans opposed it because it maintained current spending levels. So why did Democrats oppose it? Because Speaker Mike Johnson attached legislation (the SAVE Act) that would prevent illegal aliens from registering to vote.
The media had a field day, suggesting it was another defeat for the embattled Speaker of the House. But they avoided the real story – securing the vote. They don’t want to report on it because it doesn’t serve the left’s purposes.
Democrats argued that illegal aliens voting in our elections is a non-issue and that it is already clearly illegal under federal law. Well, if avoiding a government shutdown is so important, that’s not much of an argument. Make it clear again.
Millions of Americans believe illegal aliens are voting in our elections because they are. In fact, Democrats in multiple left-wing cities are allowing illegal aliens to vote in local elections.
If you want to understand why our country is in trouble and so divided, with so many questioning our election results, this is why!
Democrats fight voter ID legislation tooth-and-nail. They go crazy if you try to limit the number of drop boxes. And they are willing to shut down the government to stop commonsense election integrity measures.
When a party does everything possible to not secure the vote, what are we supposed to believe?
Poll Position
The latest New York Times/Siena poll surveyed three key swing states that are critical for Donald Trump to win the White House – Arizona, Georgia, and North Carolina. If he loses one of those three states, his path to victory would be almost impossible. Fortunately, for the Trump campaign, the poll found the former president doing well.
- In Arizona, Trump leads Kamala Harris 50% to 45%.
- In Georgia, Trump leads Harris 49% to 45%.
- In North Carolina, Trump leads Harris 49% to 47%.
Here are some other key findings from the poll:
- Just 27% of voters said the country under Biden/Harris is on the right track, while 63% said the country is headed in the wrong direction.
- The economy topped the list of voter concerns. Asked which candidate would do a better job managing the economy, voters preferred Trump over Harris by a margin of 55% to 42%.
In related news, a new poll from the University of Mary Washington finds that Harris and Trump are essentially tied in Virginia. Considering that Joe Biden won Virginia by 10 points four years ago, the Harris campaign can’t be happy.
