Confronting Communist China
Two active-duty Army soldiers, Jian Zhao and Li Tian, and former Army soldier Ruoyu Duan were arrested yesterday. They are charged with providing sensitive information about U.S. weapons systems and military strategy to communist China.
Zhao reportedly had 20 hard drives containing classified military information. Prosecutors said Zhao has a warehouse, presumably with more secret information, that they have not found yet.
Attorney General Pam Bondi issued a strong statement, saying, “The defendants arrested today are accused of betraying our country, actively working to weaken America’s defense capabilities, and empowering our adversaries in China.” Bondi vowed that these traitors will face “swift” and “severe” justice.
FBI Director Kash Patel offered this warning: “The FBI and our partners will continue to work to uncover attempts by those in China to steal sensitive U.S. military information and hold all accountable who play a role in betraying our national defense.”
These arrests come on the heels of the Justice Department charging 12 Chinese nationals, including two members of China’s intelligence and security agencies, for engaging in a massive computer hacking scheme. Their cyberattacks began during the Obama administration and continued until last year.
The scope of the attack is revealing and troubling.
They targeted virtually everything – Chinese dissidents in the U.S., defense contractors, intelligence agencies, universities, think tanks, religious organizations, law firms, telecommunications companies, media outlets, health care companies, local governments, and multiple federal agencies.
Just more disturbing evidence that we are already in an undeclared war with communist China, regardless of whether the Chamber of Commerce, Wall Street elites, and the free trade crowd want to admit it.
The Swamp Resists
Representatives from the White House and the State Department went to visit the U.S. African Development Foundation Wednesday. USADF is an obscure government agency that provides grants to promote local economic development in African nations.
But when Trump’s representatives arrived, USADF bureaucrats refused to let them in.
So, the president’s representatives returned yesterday, this time with federal marshals, and gained entrance. Then, they immediately changed all the locks, preventing the rogue bureaucrats from getting back in.
The New York Times described these events as a “takeover” by the Trump administration “after a weekslong standoff between administration officials and the foundation’s leaders.”
Thankfully, the White House set the Times straight, saying, “Entitled, rogue bureaucrats have no authority to defy executive orders by the president of the United States or physically bar his representatives from entering the agencies they run.”
Whatever was going on at the USADF can’t be good.
Validating Trump
European leaders held an emergency “reality” meeting yesterday. It was a productive meeting. Several European countries announced major increases in defense spending. Germany actually has to amend its constitution to boost its defense budget.
The European political establishment must do this because America wants them to pay their fair share. This development does not undermine President Trump’s approach to NATO. It validates Trump’s approach!
Let me describe “the scam” one more time.
When an American president is elected, he is immediately briefed by the U.S. foreign policy establishment. Then he runs to a microphone to pledge our allegiance to Europe and NATO, reassuring them that America has their back.
With that commitment, European countries spend pitiful amounts on defense and then spend the money they don’t have to spend on their own defense for things like free healthcare, free childcare, and free everything for everyone.
Then American liberals beat up conservatives by saying, “The Europeans provide free childcare and healthcare. Why don’t we?”
It’s quite a scam! We’re not only subsidizing Europe’s defense, we’re also subsidizing Europe’s socialism. Meanwhile, people in North Carolina whose homes were destroyed in the floods are still living in tents, and too many of our veterans are homeless.
We should be cheering Europe’s decision to finally stand up for itself. They have been “living in our basement” for far too long. And we should be thanking Donald Trump for thinking outside of the box that every other president allowed themselves to be put in.
Talks Continue
There have been some new developments regarding Ukraine. The White House says President Zelensky is making the right commitments about peace. Next week, American and Ukrainian representatives will meet in Saudi Arabia to negotiate a framework for how to proceed with a ceasefire deal with Russia.
Speaking on CNBC this morning, Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent said that President Trump is talking with Russian President Vladimir Putin, adding, “Behind the scenes, he is negotiating just as hard with President Putin,” as he has with Zelensky.
Today, President Trump warned he is “strongly considering large scale Banking Sanctions . . . and Tariffs on Russia until a Cease Fire and FINAL SETTLEMENT AGREEMENT ON PEACE IS REACHED.”
It’s important to note that Putin doesn’t negotiate publicly like Zelensky does. We’ll see if Putin is willing to agree to the concessions he needs to make for peace.
But this is how the United States brokers a peace deal. We act as a facilitator between the two parties because we believe it is in our interests and the long-term interests of the world for this war to end.
The United Nations has shown no interest in brokering a peace deal, nor has any other international body.
What Was That?!
A coven of far-left House Democrats, including Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and Jasmine Crockett, are trying to resuscitate their neo-Marxist base with -- wait for it -- a video game parody.
In “Choose Your Fighter,” AOC, Crockett, and other Democrat women leap into the picture and take a fighting stance like characters in a video game. It’s as bad as it sounds.
The White House quickly responded with its own video and this statement of truth: “AMERICA CHOSE ITS FIGHTERS LAST NOVEMBER.”
Compare both videos – they will make your day!
Left-wing Lunacy
The Minnesota House of Representatives voted this week on legislation to protect women’s sports from men pretending to be women. State Representative Liish Kozlowski (D) led the opposition.
Kozlowski, who claims to be the only “two-spirit” member of any state legislature, blasted the bill as “Just another state-sponsored genocide.” Unfortunately, the bill failed on a party-line vote of 67 to 66.
This insanity runs deep in the roots of today’s Democrat Party.
California Gov. Gavin Newsom appeared to surrender on this issue when he told Charlie Kirk that men cheating in women’s sports is “deeply unfair.” I wonder if Newsom can “go so far” as to say men can’t get pregnant. I doubt it.
The fact that he’s playing games with this issue means he’s running for president in 2028. But he knows this issue is an obvious loser, and he needs to get out of crazy town. Meanwhile, he is smashing school districts that dare to tell parents if their child is “transitioning” in school.
Any culture that won’t stop this insanity is doomed.
Democrat Division
When Rep. Al Green (D-TX) was censured by the House of Representatives in a bipartisan vote yesterday, a very revealing song rang out. Democrats gathered around Green and started singing the anthem made famous by Martin Luther King, Jr., “We Shall Overcome.” The song inspired the civil rights movement.
But singing it yesterday had no meaning or power at all. The censure had absolutely nothing to do with Green’s race. He could have been brown, white, blue, dressed in a pink outfit – none of that matters.
When you try to continually shout down a president as he is delivering a speech to Congress, censure is the predictable outcome.
But playing the “race card” is the only card the modern left has. They can’t win arguments, so they resort to suggesting that if we don’t support neo-Marxists shouting down the president, we’re racists.
If we don’t support leftist teachers telling our children there are dozens of genders, we’re homophobes and transphobes.
If we don’t support 20 million people pouring across our borders, we’re xenophobes.
All they’ve got is division, division, division because they have no arguments to justify their extreme policies.
This Just In. . .
The Trump administration has canceled $400 million in grants to Columbia University for failing to stop rampant antisemitism on its campus.
And kudos to Secretary of State Marco Rubio for actually kicking out foreign antisemites on student visas.
